In 2014 YEDP implemented a stop GBV cases for refugees women and girls project and this mad this young generation more innovative, creative and experienced on GBV survivors cases, we recognized that perpetrators of Gender Based Violence are often those closest to the victims such as husbands or partners, family members, close relatives, friends, community members and even humanitarian workers although in most instances of GBV survivors do not seek help or speak out for fearing of being stigmatized by their own community because they are not aware of their right
In 2016 YEDP group Members set down and decided to register it at governmental level in Kenya Turkana West as a community Based Organization with registration Number DGSD/TRKW/CBO/114, YEDP believes that Gender Based Violence is inflicted by men on women and girls and is based on historic unequal power relations between men and women which led to the discrimination against women by men and to the prevention of the full advancement of women although women and girls are the most main victims of GBV it is also possible for men and boys to be the victims and in particular homosexuals other persons perceived as not fulfilling clear gender rules based on sexually determined roles, exploitations and behaviors, we want women and girls to live self-dependent in their lives.
